Leadership & Training of Cadets

Through International Sea Cadet organisations, Cadets are able to train Overseas.  This provides them with the more specialised nautical training necessary to become leaders, e.g., Officers, Petty Officers, Cadet Instructors, etc.  Such training requires the facilities and professional instructors found only in Naval Training establishments with Cadet training facilities.

Square-rigger sail and advancement training for Cadets
in the United
Kingdom

Annually Cadets can earn a chance to participate on T.S. Royalist, a square-rigged sailing ship in the UK.  The ship is specially used for sail training Cadets. This is an invaluable opportunity for Cadets to receive basic sail training practically unavailable elsewhere.  While in the UK, full Cadets take full advantage of training in shore based Cadet training facilities and naval establishments.

Cadet Training in Canada

The Navy League of Canada permits Bermuda Cadets to train with their Royal Canadian counterparts. Cadets between the ages of 12-16 can earn a chance to participate in the Atlantic Region Summer Camps at HMCS Acadia, Cornwallis Nova Scotia.  These Summer Camps run from two to four weeks.

Cadet Training in the United States

Bermuda Cadets have an opportunity to participate in the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) Navy League Cadet Orientation Camp.  This camp is ideally suited to new entry Cadets, as it gives them a feel for Naval life on a small scale.
